Sankeien Garden

April 4, 2009
We went to Sankeien Garden this weekend to view the Cherry Blossoms. We went Saturday night with the the Brewers and a couple of other families and their children. This place is so pretty at night especially with all the blooms. There are traditional Japanese style housing that you can go into. We have yet to go look inside but we have plenty of time and it is just down the road from us.

On Sunday we went back with the Brewers to view it in the day light. I was not planning on going anywhere that day so I look rough in our pictures. We did enjoy ourselves and it is always nice to get out of the house.

This is the road going to Sankeien Garden very narrow with two way traffic. The road was even worse due to the people going to and from the Garden.

The Temple that is on the grounds made it even prettier with the blossoms.

Our Arrival

March 28, 2009
We arrived late Saturday evening March 28, 2009. Jun picked us up from the airport and took us to the hotel. Our first meal was McDonald's which was in the mall near the hotel. Our second meal was at Denny's. We ate breakfast with the Brewer's (another Nissan Family).

Our first week here was interesting. We had random people meeting us at the hotel to take us to get our visas and to pick out the furniture for the house. We also made our way to where we will be living a couple of times to visit the Brewer's and to look at the house. I hope I can find my way back to the Naka-ku Ward office to get our visas in a couple of weeks.

Here are a few pictures of our hotel and the surrounding area.

This is the Intercontinental Grand Hotel. This is where we lived our first week in Japan.

This is the view out of our hotel room. We could see the whole bay. David's work is behind the wind mill.

The Ferris Wheel across from our hotel. The is a small amusement park in the middle of Yokohama. There is a roller coaster and several other different attraction inside. We did not get a chance to visit.

One of the lobby's of the hotel had this beautiful flower arrangement. They changed it out once while we were there. If you can tell this is very very very big about 10 feet in diameter(across).

The Power Rangers were filming at our hotel. We got to see a real live movie set in action. David went down and took pictures while the kids and I rested.

On Saturday April 4 we moved into our house. We were so glad to get out of the hotel. The kids were not sleeping good at all. Dawson and Abby will have their own rooms (thank God). Now maybe they will start sleeping through the night and not get up at 2am.
