Tokyo Disneyland

April 28, 2009
We started out very early. We did not take the stroller but I had the carrier for Abigail. We took a bus from Yokohama Station to Disney. Dawson was so excited when we got there. He kept pointing out all the Mickey Mouse designs on the buildings and buses. He told us he wanted to ride on the Mickey Mouse bus.

He did not know what to think when he saw all the characters just inside the entrance. Dawson wanted to go see them all. One of the first things we did was to have our picture taken in Mickey Mouse’s car (well one of the park employees did).

We met up with Jun and his family (a guy David works with and worked in Decherd). He gave David and Dawson fast pass tickets to ride Monster’s Inc. They also helped us get a park map in English. We did not have to buy our tickets so we did not get a map when entered the park. David won our tickets playing BINGO at one of his Nomiki’s (Guess they are not all bad and good things can come from them).
We found a stand selling Mickey ears and we played for a little while with Abigail. We finally decided on a pair for her.

We did not like any there for Dawson. They were all too girly. We did find him some right before we left. Abby napped throughout the day in the carrier.
David and Dawson rode the race cars, the Monster’s Inc. ride, and Dumbo. We stopped to get Dawson a popcorn bucket and found Wall-E and EVA. Dawson’s day was made. He loves that movie. We had to take several pictures with Wall-E.
We spent most of our day walking around meeting the characters. We did wait in line forever (about an hour) to go inside Mickey Mouse’s house and to get our picture taken with him.

We had hamburgers for lunch. We did not want to wait in line too long so we did not eat in a restaurant. We did ride the train around the park. Realizing we still had not seen everything. I do not know how. We watched the daytime parade. David bought Dawson a 600 yen balloon. We walked around some more where we found this redneck’s place in a corner to eat supper. We found this place to get our picture taken. I got a big one for me and a few postcards to send home.

Dawson told us he needed to go home to his bed so we decided to head home. But first I wanted to look around the shops to see what we might need or that the kids may need. I found Dawson and Abigail picture frames to put their pictures with Mickey and Minnie in.
We had really hoped we would get to see the night parade but there is always next time. Dawson fell asleep before we ever made it to the bus and Abby was not far behind him. We had a great time and watching Dawson get so excited made it even better.
I can’t wait to go back. Abby will be older and can enjoy it more. We will take a stroller because my body cannot handle her in the carrier for 12 hours again. Oh yea, it was almost 8pm before we arrived back at home.
